So it has becomes tradition for me to stop for these little treasures whenever I am in Rocky Point. They will leave you speechless.

Perrones can only be found after about 6pm. They caters to tourists but has found a following with the natives. Perrones is located in the parking lot and right next to traffic lights, if you aren't watching out, you will miss them. They have their hot dog cart and a grill, they have seating which is a long table with chairs and its very clean.

The cart is run by a couple of guys who take pride in making these hot dogs. Everything is cooked right there in front of you and what makes these hot dogs different is that though most vendors use Bimbo bread, Perrones have a bakery make theirs and it is AMAZING!!! So light and fluffy and moist and just so good!

The hot dogs are wrapped in bacon and then grilled. You have a choice of toppings but I always just ask for the works, which consists of mustard mayo (and more mayo) ketchup, grilled onions and salsa, pico de gallo.....they have it all and again they are short of amazing.

I took prince charming there when we went alone last year and I am not saying he is hard to please (but he is not easily impressed) and well HE WAS....you know that roll your eyes kind of good, well this little vendor and their hot dogs do just that!

This time around we took the kids with us and they were also impressed. Vivi went traditional and had plain with mustard...Noah nibbled as well and Luis and Louie went for the works as well as adding a salsa with cucumber in it...So yummy!
We all had a drink, Coca Cola in the traditional bottle and it hit the spot.

We averaged out how much one of these hot dogs are in American $$ and it about 1.40 a piece.....each of us had two, so you know the price is right and well anytime you can find a spot that isn't the same predictable stuff, it's a good thing.

Again if you find yourself out in Puerto Penasco (proper) and its after 6pm...YOU MUST give these guys a try. :) A little piece of food heaven awaits.

Okay so I didn’t know any of this when I walked in. I had been to this location once before when it was “R.T. O'Sullivan's Sports Grill”. I walked in and much was the same, only it didn’t smell like a bar. It was clean, when I walked in there was a team of brunettes ready to assist. All were lovely and I found a place up in the bar area.

Not a big crowd on a Saturday afternoon but the music was playing and there were “established patrons” sitting up at the bar enjoying conversation and their lunch. “Established patrons” is what I call those people who look like they may frequent a particular bar, we all long for a place “where everyone knows your name”.

I sit down and I get a great seat (top deck) where the flat screen is right in my view, Virginia Tech and NC State were just starting their game. There are pool tables and an area with games. The doors were open and a great breeze was flowing.

The flat screens are peppered throughout the place and because there is seating at different levels you have the ability to not just see the game but be seen as well (should that be your fancy). The beer menu is okay (I love beer) and I think all places should have Dos XX on tap (lager or amber) but I am pleasantly surprised that they did have San Tan IPA, so I go for it, and YUM!.

As I read my way through the menu I find that I am focused on “The Burger”, I could go on to say how wonderful it was, but I think you should just go out there and try it yourself. There is something about cherry peppers and grilled Ciabatta on a hamburger that is to die for.

The ambiance is that of a bar (no way around it ) but I could see myself bringing my friends and family here for football and definitely some Final Four action, and even on the weekends when you find a sitter and want to hang with girlfriends for lunch or a group of couples in the evening. Very laid back and the staff are lovely inside and out. Monica came over from around the bar and we chatted, as did the other ladies.

That being said, make sure to go when you have time, because it took a while, even though I stated I was shopping and just popped in for a quick bite. I am sure that its growing pains but there are things that need to be better if they are going to compete.

1)    Servers should know beers on tap (it’s only fair that they get annoyed by my BF coming in and asking, “So what beers you have on tap”) People like to know you know the menu.

2)    I am offered water and it was horrible. I live with Phoenix agua and its fine at home, but when I go out to a restaurant can I at least get it filtered.

3)    Their web page isn’t up.

4)    Door to the kitchen was open, needs to be closed so as not to shatter the mystery.

Hey! If you find yourself in the area, please give this place a try…I plan to make my way back to watch some college basketball and to make my way through the menu…but will refrain from the Ghost Pepper Challenge.

Happy 2013

Hello everyone and Happy 2013!! I am turning over a new leaf, and I am going to do something I have wanted to do for a long time and that is blog about something relevant like “happy hour”, or really any hour when you as a man or woman feel the need to just stop and take a breath. Usually for most Americans this is happy hour or “hours”. For me, well it’s anytime I can catch a break over a weekday or weekend.

So from now on when you see my blogs, you will be seeing a blog about somewhere I have been, eaten, and yes had a bevy or two…my hope for this blog to offer those people (like me) options other than the drive through and parking lot of the nearest fast food restaurant. We all deserve better than that. I am going to be honest, I am not looking for a freebee (as I can buy my own way)but I am looking for places that women (and men) can feel comfortable going to have a pint and a burger or a salad and pinot. Something other than Peter Piper Pizza!

Pizza and beer at kiddy Vegas does not constitute going out!

That being said, let the blogging begin!
